I might also point out that I never believed the attacks against America on 9–11 justified invading Afghanistan and Iraq. Going back even further I never thought the attack on Pearl Harbor justified dropping atomic bombs on Japan, and that the murder of six million Jews including most of my mother’s family justified the saturation bombing of German cities killing millions of innocent people.
