You just expressed all my pent-up frustration with a very comfortable friend, living in a cosy part of a militarised wealthy society that provokes civil war and then sells bombs to both sides... And she has benefitted from that societal power and stability. So this enabled her to provide well and be a good mother to her offspring, and so they take care of her, buying her whatever she wants...She said rather smugly, 'you sow what you reap', entirely ignoring as you have eloquently described, that those born into hardship, the child in Gaza, the woman struggling with misogyny, the person of colour, exploited etc etc etc … they have not reaped what they have sown.
