…performative. I also see through the white people who do make such demands on the interwebs because I know damn well they didn’t give two shits about Syria, Somalia, or any other war involving Black or brown people. Their support and empathy are limited to those who are white like them.

Yes... much of Eastern Europe has been very hostile to refugees escaping form the conflicts MANUFACTURED and FED by weapons sales from teh super 'civilised' West.
The USSR gave scholarships to people placed into conflicts and poverty by the actions of th damn Anglo-Americans and their West European allies. They together form 'White Empire' as the writer Indi.ca describes.
