Yes... it is all about presenting the white minority of humanity as the default norm.
Similarly, while it is normal to say, 'Black/Latino/Asian American, it is very rare to see the term, 'white American', being used. The same thing occurs in England, where the expression, Black British; is normal, but rare to see, 'white British'.
This is part of the way the Majority World, people of colour, are marginalised or even rendered invisible in official mainstream Whyte discourse.
