Yes, I'm sure you and the author are right about that dynamic.. but the overarching cultural stance of exploitation and taking over resources/knowledge frameworks has been central to the Western Empire and that has been partly one of the ways in which the false claims of white superiority has become embedded in the psyche of those miseducated in the West ( Growing up in the U.K, I regard myself as in the process of recovering from massive doses of lies, misrepresentation and omissions!)
So the only way out of the myopic view that is cultivated in the West is to begin to correctly attribute to sources that have been ignored/mafginalised/misrepresented etc.
