Wonderfully thoughtful analysis of how to apply the 'actions speak louder than words', mantra. Noticing the condition of a person's home definitely says a LOT both about their mental state and their character and personality.

Here's something from my experience. A man claims he is a bit OCD and loves to be clean. (The message to you, is you better keep everything clean). You visit him at his home. You notice the surfaces are clean, the toilet and bath look clean enough, but you drop your earring and as you bend down to retrieve it, the floor looks like it has 2 years of dust settled there... there's hair in the corners, and what the heck is that stain?

RUN!

This is a very sneaky, manipulative man, who does just enough of impression management to get his own way.
