With respect, you would recognise that there are culturally specific ways of gaining honour and respect, if you were to study social anthropology, as I have done.
So for example, in the most long-lasting societies, those individual/clans who were generous/shared their goods/were hospitable to strangers, were appreciated as superior to the mean and the greedy. Western society turned this principle, on its head, with the start of its massacring, invading. gold-grabbing spree from teh 16th c onwards.
In other words, I am not saying there are no greedy people in other cultures, obviously that would be ridiculous. What I am saying is that in many other societies, there were rules against hoarding/greed/usury... and indeed, that was an intrinsic part of the message of Jesus.
