While the essence of what you say concerning the socio-economic order is accurate, the question of why when materialist needs are fully met, people still behave irrational eg in a family, scapegoating the truth teller and siding with the bully... these psychological dimensions also need to be addressed... and this is where the desire to belong plays such a central role in suppressing rational thought.
