Sadly, the fact is (as the local elections results are presently revealing) fewer and fewer people actually identify as 'working class' . It's a major con that the Tories have succeeded in pulling off since Thatcher's day - turn working class people into aspiring little tories, who own their own property, along with stocks and shares... ie hostages to banks and finance capitalism.
