We live in such image saturated times - I can see how such paintings could vividly back up the prevailing social order and moral codes.

If only there was a just world order, with a 'Greater Being' ensuring punishment of evildoers. But one of the hardest lessons of life to comprehend is that too often the most unjust and morally deprived do indeed get away with their crimes against the innocent.
