Here’s the thing. The patriarchy propped up men for centuries, regardless of how exceptional or mediocre they were. For millennia, they were taught that all they needed to enter into relationships with women was a pulse and a job. They weren’t required to perform emotional labor, they didn’t need emotional intelligence, communication skills, or anything else. They didn’t even need to be decent human beings to get women. They simply had to be male.
