This reminds me of my mother … how she never in her life mouthed words ‘I love you’ to her children or grandchildren but she gets up , even now , at the age of 90, to knead the dough, to make good ,delicious chapattis, hot off her griddle , no buying in supermarket issued naan breads… she makes her dishes, chopping onions, tomatoes, rinsing the daal, the rice , adding in her blend of salt snd spices - no greasy curries in plastic containers from commerce-driven enterprises.
