In fact what you are sharing is also helpful to those like myself who had no politicised 'communities of colour' to be guided by.

My parents were in survival mode, and new to the UK, they had no experience of how to manage the racism they and their children were being subjected to... I had no adults to help me make sense of things and this continued until I was lucky enough to meet Kathy L. the Whyte Irish -origin philosopher at Uni, whose social and political conscience was far more developed than the average academic!
