The system has been made such that most people are working long hours to 'make a living' and then by the time they do their household chores, give some time to chilren/eldercare etc, it is time to go to bed... I just met someone recently, who works 7.00pm to 7.00 am.. she sleeps till about 2.0O.pm , then makes lunch, brings her grandson from nursery, and takes care of him till 6.00pm, then it time to get ready to go to work again...

This is life for millions of people eg nurses also do 12 hour shifts.
