Jesus…
They exchange cards about peace
While celebrating opulence and greed

Jesus
While their scientists design ever more lethal weapons
Like the two thousand pound bombs dropping on tents

Jesus
Their teachers blank out truths and paint false pictures of who
Did what to whom; who stole and who still gets stolen from

Jesus
Their artists are like performing monkeys,
Entertainment that distracts and degrades

Jesus
Their media lies and lies and lies and wishes you
Happy Christmas on their blood-splattered front pages

Jesus
Their leaders explode pagers and call kids
Who’ve lost their parents, terrorists

Jesus
When Palestine Action damages weapons’ factories
Those brave ones are held under Terrorist laws

Jesus

The modern-day Palestinians
Still are oppressed by Europe’s occupation

Jesus

And still the Judas’ s prevail
Selling out the pure and innocent

Jesus

When they cut down thousands of trees to make cards
Wishing each other peace but keep on profiting from wars
And millions of lives are ended, bodies maimed and minds marred

Jesus

We are seeing how hypocrisy and falsehoods rule, and how the
Carefully nurtured and deeply protected
Blind spots won’t show us the modern-day Judas, Pilate, Magdelen, Mary or

Jesus…
