Thank you for your detailed response. You raise some really thought-provoking points , which I feel I will have to write an artillery to respond fully.

Certainly, you are correct that the deluge of military assaults and takeovers of indigenous lands around the world, that have been orchestrated by a combination of Western corporations/secret services and covert or overt military support by NATO forces with the U.K/USA at the forefront, can be safely criticised in academia - but what cannot be safely broached, is if you raise your voice against the Zionist state and its supporters... And that was uppermost in my mind.

You could look up the systematic onslaught on Professor Desmond Rankin of Ottawa University, Dr Tony Martin, there are lots of examples... but these two come to mind immediately. I was recently in touch with Professor Rebecca Gould -she has written about her experience at Bristol University.

My own personal experiences also attest to the truth of covert control exercised underneath the facade of academic freedom. But that is another story for another day....
