Thank you for your contextualisation of the issue within the terms of the millennia of human existence.. . what I find reassuring is that it is by and large Indigenous peoples around the world who have been putting their bodies on the ine to stop the felling of trees, the pollution of rivers and etc etc in the name of profit for companies pandering to Western tastes and whims for 'goods' from the Global South. At least there is an awakening in the West tht such consumerist lifestyles are killing people and planet. But will this awareness spread fast enough, when our governments are led by people with ties to the predator corporations?
