Thank you for such a brilliant, thought-provoking article, connecting the dots between the political power of White Supremacy, and the personal care of people of colour so very adroitly. Your analysis really resonates with me as a South Asian woman, in which the misogyny of islamic thought (the devaluation of daughters and the celebration of the bith of sons) pushed me into serving the needs of family endlessly, and any time spent on myself felt like an illicit self indulgence. So in any society in which hatred and devaluation and scapegoating is directed at a particular section, then their self care is indeed a revolutionary act.
