Professor Shalhoub-Kevorkian is one of the most prominent Palestinian scholars in Israel. Her work has had a major impact on criminology and childhood studies and is a credit to the Israeli university system. By pressuring her to leave and by creating a hostile environment for her scholarship, you are also undermining the space for the critical study of Israel and Palestine within Hebrew University. Rather than creating a hostile environment for her research, the university ought to be supporting Shalhoub-Kevorkian during this difficult time, when her life and well-being are endangered as a result the vicious crackdown on academic freedom within Israel and beyond.
