Such an informative overview with a very motivating conclusion. What is entirely missing is a moral and political dimension to your analysis

This is not surprising as we are taught that science subjects including computing, are above politics but that is patently NOT TRUE.

Every development, whether in a physics, chemistry biology lab or IT space, has a military angle, aimed at dispossessing the Global South/People of colour/managing home-grown dissent in the fake democracies that are becoming openly fascistic. So the big question to ask is not the imperialist/colonial mentality that, 'there is a world ... waiting to be discovered, but rather, to what use is new knowledge being put? In the path of further enslavements, dropping precision bombs to assassinate leaders who are resisting the Western hegemony? And where do your loyalties lie? Just with increasing your bank balance?

Such are the important questions we need to ask one another. I hope your role model is Edward Snowden. But very very few have his courage or integrity. That's why the whole world is in such a mess, that we are facing the 6th Mass Extinction. Young man, what does your superb technical know-how have to say about that?
