Israeli armed forces have continuously targeted UNRWA staff and facilities in the Gaza enclave. As recently as yesterday they hit a training facility in Khan Younis which had been housing around 800 civilians seeking shelter from the Israeli onslaught. At least 13 people were killed and 56 injured, 21 of them critically, in what should have been a place of safety. As of January 1st, as reported by the agency, 147 agency staff have been killed. This is a shocking number and far above the alleged 12 or so who Israel say took part in the October 7th infiltration into southern Israel by the Al Qassam brigade, the fighting wing of Hamas.
