Not so intelligent... in fact, the converse.

The results of so-called 'rational thinking' speak for themselves! We only need the stomach to take in the extent of the loss of human life, the catastrophic loss of natural habitants and the erosion of whole ecosystems that have damaged the soil, water, and air upon which all Life depends, to understand that the model of 'civilisation' and 'development' that the Anglo-Amerian Empire is still continuing to fraudulently foist upon all regions fo the world, is without parallel in its destructiveness.

There were philosophies that did not fall prey to the superficiality of becoming charmed by one aspect of the human capacity, but these have been and are still, under severe attack by the hubris of the West, backed by its vicious military (also the product of rationality cut off from all other capabilities of the human psyche).
