Most people, myself included, are not aware of this.

We talk about Global Warming as if it is a recent thing, a product of the 20th Century. Its not. It started, with the start of the Industrial Revolution and the large scale burning of coal to power it. This did two things. It dumped massive amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere causing it to trap more heat and it dumped massive amounts of particulate into the atmosphere causing it to cool down.

Most people, myself included, are not aware of this. Reading this article has explained to me the relationship between C02 in the atmosphere and particulates that cool down the atmosphere. I also didnt know the longevity of CO2 spans thousands of years, while the cooling effect of particulates stops after just 3-5 years.
