Most of the parents I know (south Asian/Muslim ) are keen to pass responsibilities to other members of the extended family, while they grab the status, power over another human being, and gleefully, expect to be supported emotionally, financially and every which way by their children, once they are in their mid teens and beyond. Such people are selfish beyond measure.... And yes, no-one forced them to have childrne - they just take it as an easy cop out to accomplish anythin else in their lives.
