It's really important that you distinguish between passport holders who are white and those who people of colour. Both ssets might have been born in the UK/USA, but one set has been treated like they don't belong and they are not REALLy British/American. Also jarring you are calling them white Anglo mericans, 'my people'. Rest assured, they have never seen you as one of them!!!
