The teams talked more, helped each other, laughed at ridiculous ideas, were more willing to try ridiculous ideas, didn’t ask for permission to do things.

It reminds me of how we all are as children... then parents and teachers introduce competition and prizes along with making their love and approval depend on our performance.... white culture is brutal both within and to those it exploits as 'the other'.
