It is Colorful-people who must lead'....

The opening line of this poem is signalling the unity of humanity as a whole... ie that color is on a spectrum , while the binary system of 'white / black' labelling and then affording legal and civil rights and protections, or not, is the invention of the European invaders of Africa, Asia, the Americas etc.

Hence, rejecting 'white leadership', and its the self-chosen designations of Europeans as 'white', is rejecting the racial, political and psychological heritage of a system that denies the humanity of the majority of people on Earth.
