In principal I agree with this - but as a woman who has been harassed on public transport, i did chose to get a car and thought an electic car was the better choice. Talking of choices, I chose not to have children (after learning when I was 16 about DDT in the water supply and mother's breast milk)

Meanwhile my 5 siblings have 2/3 or 4 children between them, making a total of 14.

I believe I have made a sacrifice and that is my contribution to reducing the burden of overpopulation. The sibling's children now have 12 cars between them. I have one electric car.
