In order to make sense of patterns of experiences, we have to generalise and what I extrapolate from many experiences in various contexts here in the UK is the expectation that I am supposed to be 'less than', and there's various forms of discomfort ranging from envy to passive aggression, to open hostility which are typical when the average whyte woman feels I as a woman of colour have achieved more than she has.

That's not to say there are n't exceptions tho this pattern; indeed my closest friends are whyte women who are English/Irish/Italian origin!

IN fact they are the ones who have helped me to see this pattern.
