I'm realising how having some independent means, such as a rental income, gives you more choice of where you go and who you meet, while having to go into a workplace and earn a salary, means it's open season and you will likely cross paths with some sociopath/psy/jealous, insecure bully whose incompetence you inadvertently expose !
