If only more people had such a courageous stance regarding the cultural 'truths' of their family of origin, I think conflicts from the interpersonal to the inter-societal would be much less likely to occur.

But it's so easy and in some respects, necessary, to obey/ identify as children with the truths of our parents, but typically, this goes on from generation to generation till we get these fossilised cultural rules that make little sense centuries later, from the originating scenarios.
