I was a patient for 3 months in an orthpeaidic ward and noticed the doctors of South Asian origin were very careful about how they engaged with me... it felt like they were a bit intimidated by the white staff and needed to take care they didn't show me an y extra interest or camaraderie based on shared language/religion/colour... to the point that some acted more aloof than the white doctors.
