I was 20 and friends with a Kenyan Phd student who asked me to help her 'tone down' her thesis and that's how I came to read Pedagogy of the Oppressed', I started to carry it around with me like the Bible... luckily it is as you know a very thin book but each page brought reverberations and earthquakes !!!
