I tried to address the EFL department that failed a doctor on her English test - it was a mutiple choice test and when I checked, she should have been awarded 92 - a clear pass . By being failed, she would have to repeat the year, providing another year's worth of fees to the college, on top of the humiliation and frustration. She was more accomplished than many of the European (White) students, who paid one quarter of her fees, as an overseas student.
For trying to address this, I was then harassed, things fabricated against me to the point of raising disciplinaries... When, after 6 years of such harassment, I tried a grievance, to expose the harassment, neither unon rep attended, informing me of their U-turn only the night before.
My Irish friend then offered to attend the meeting to give me moral support. It was she , as an IT teacher, who noticed that the memos I was saying I had never seen, which claimed I was constantly late and not turning up for my classes, were printed on laser printers which the college did not possess on the dates that the memos were supposedly written. Despite this evidence of fabrication, the decison still went in the White managers’ favour.
My experience has been that everything is rigged in favour of Whites, and if you are not compliant, if you are seen as a threat, or challenging their power, you will get attacked in all manner of ways.
