Why is it so hard to understand that Black women have the capacity to experience emotional pain and trauma? Are we not subject to the same susceptibility to stress, anxiety, exhaustion, and sadness as any other human being? Do we not feel the effects of rigorous activities and overwhelming schedules like everyone else? And why should a Black woman’s claims of illness or pain ever be in question at all?

I think we have been seen and used, taken for granted as a a resource, for so long, both by white people and male of colour, that to say STOP, we too have needs adn we are not superhumna, is placing a boundary. People used to privilege who have a sense of entitlement, to our time, attention, skills and labour, do not like that.
