I think this is a myth - all that the wealthy do, is exploit the land and labour that keeps the majority in poverty. The fact is only thanks to indigenous practices that the lands are still fertile - the pesticide -based monocultures of teh ‘diabolically profit-driven Europeans have caused immense harm, as Rachel Carson noted in her book, Silent Spring.
