I think the problem is that we can read these accounts and analysis on an intellectual level... and not feel a connection with present-day realities... particularly when identifying as a feminist to resist the demeaning designations about women, and wanting connection with other women, who think similarly, I never expected them to have an unconscious superiority complex!
