I think it runs even deeper in that the whole epistemological structuring and cosmology that informs the Western sciences is about cutting. blending and shredding and shoving together elements that make for short term convenience but cause immense long term harm. or even 'forever harm. eg who their 'wise' guys have called 'forever chmeicals'.
