I see you are relatively new on Medium - claps are like a currency here - you can give up to 50, but leaving one clap is kind of used to register contempt for the views of the author of the article.... I usually block such people , as it is an act of aggression.

Even if I don't agree with the conclusion or analysis I usually give at least 20 or so claps for a sincere voice that bothered to articulate something!
