I met Gudrun, a young German girl who joined my pottery class... and we became friends, - we went out for a meal, a walk... and eventually she shared with me with some emotion, that I was the only person she had met in the Uk, who did not mention the Nazis to her. She was only 22 or so - she had nothing to do with that period of German history!

I find it absurd how there is constant vilification of nazis, and by implication, German people... but the Nazis were only in power for ten or so years, while the equivalent dehumanisation of Brown and Black people, via slavery and colonialism eg in India, where the British murdered some 12 million people due to sheer greed and in the 1940's taking crops out of the country, such truths involving far greater loss of life and suffering, are never mentioned in their history books, films etc etc.
