The impact of China on the world today would be more direct, and less incidental than The Great Wall. Through global trade and investments, China has contributed to the infrastructural development of several developing countries along its Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), as well as active participation in multilateral organisations like the BRICS and Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) to define the future emergent epoch of a new world order based on cooperation and mutual respect, instead of the current ideology of “international rule-based” order of domination, exploitation, and control. A new Renaissance beckons.
