I have never identified with the West, though growing up in the UK from the age of 4.

My point is that patriarchy - of whichever flavour needs to be defeated.

Too often the suffering of women outside of the West is used to blow the trumpet of Western superiority.

The CIA has been behind many attempts to overthrow non-complaint governance by using the grievances of a sector of society, as we saw in Libya and countless other places.

Patriarchy is alive and well in the West too - don't be fooled by the more subtle control and pressures that relentlessly shapes young girls' and women's consciousness so that most value themselves through the lens of being an attractive sex object - as if that is the most meaningful aspect of her being!
