…incorrect assumption (without having watched the video). I thought the guy was, himself, an Israel. My point would still be that there are many Israelis who very strongly criticize the Israeli government, and maybe even the concept of Zionism, but that those people are still essentially Zionists because they are Jews living in Israel.

I don't think that is valid at all... we don;' choose where we are born - I don't identify with UK policies just because I grew up here- and you may say I could leave, but actually most people will not abandon their elderly parents , so, we end up kind of stuck.
I met Israelis who felt like that, back in 2004.
