I appreciate your agreement but I must say, I don't feel I am belying the author's humanity whatsoever. He has participated and financially benefitted from a totally unwarranted invasion and devastation of an entire nations' infrastructure; on elf his leaders (whom I suppose he has never criticised or confronted in any way) even said 500,000 children dying from the sanctions imposed on Iraq 'was worth it'... That is dehumanisation. Should I pussyfoot around his sensibilities and pander to white fragility? I don't think so. For a start I don't see any attempt at reparations by him, just a continuous whining. In fact, such 'men' are trying to get sympathy for their 'hardships' as armed soldiers with the latest equipment, hunting down people with next to nothing to defend themselves, are downright obscene.
