I am sure this is the experience of many `South Indian woman in arranged marriages , where the husbands 's female relatives - especially his mother are very controlling and interfering, seeking to dominate the newly wed bride and young mother... So in this position the only choice is to pretend to be weak and compliant while planning thow to gain more control and authority.
