Hi, Nikos ,thank you for your contribution. To add some clarity, I don't mean to idealise Indigenous cultures and I agree that of course, there have been other exploiters/dictators/tyrants and enslavers, throughout history.

What I do want to assert is that there is a qualitative difference (not just the length of time that the Western empire has existed- there have been many Empires that continued for much longer periods of time). The qualitative difference is what I am concerned to draw attention to and analyse. So for example, if we look at the Ottoman Empire, the enslaved /subject peoples could rise through the ranks to gain top positions. In the White, Euro/Anglo-American mindset, it is the absolutist erasure of the essential humanity of all others, plus the commodification of life systems, along with the pursuit of profit without any regards to consequences, short or long term that has brought a lethality unmatched by any other empire in human history.
