Hello Orla thanks for your speedy response... It's the nature of all patriarchal religions- My mother is Muslim, so I find myself constantly walking this tightrope of one the one hand forgiving her transgressions against me, while at the same time, she takes comfort in my strengths, and also punishes me for my ononcompliance, with arranged marriage, refusal to bow to the brother, and male authority in general.
