Growing up in a Muslim household, I questioned the misogny by which my borther was given lots of rights but no responsibilities, while I as a daughter, was given may responsibilites but no voice in the family system, including th ebbusiness I was helpig ot establish adn run...

When I opposed this inequlaity, I was under attack and eventually, ostracised.

i thought at Uni, I'd make freinds with those who share my values, but I found the white liiberals are the worst hypocristes, proclaiming the desire for change and equality, while actually holding on to their privilege and power. They too were unable to hear me when I spoke as their equal.

We live a system of oppressive hierachical relationships with caste-like characteristics and so we meet with invalidation from those who want to keep the status quo as it is.
