Don't you think there is a vast chasm that is the lack of stories which centre people of colour? For instance, there are literally thousands of films about centring 'cowboy' in Westerns, and thousands of adventure films, and thousands of romcoms, but only in the past ten or so years are we seeing a handful of movies centring people of colour as main characters. But even these by and large don't address these kinds of dynamics.
