Clare, thank you for sharing your detailed knowledge about 'Doctors Without Borders'. We have a natural desire to trust people's words and stated intentions... and then ... we experience observe a very different dynamic that is actually taking place... Raise your voice and you are liable to get ostracised, if you disciplined adn dismissed. It has taken me many years to see this patter taking place in my workplaces in teh UK, where I was often the only person of colour or the only one refusing to be the token.

It is so very hurtful ad disappointing when this happens... in my context of FE college and HE academia, I was constantly feeling bewildered at the mixed messages I was receiving from Paleface liberals !I am grateful for the voices I have found on Afrosapiophile, Writers and Editors of Colour , An Injustice and individual blogs like yours, as I feel validated and strengthened in my perceptions and interpretations of events.

There is a lot more awareness than there was say, 20 years ago.
